YEREVAN. – At the invitation of the chairperson of the Russian Federation (RF) Federal Assembly, Valentina Matviyenko, the delegation of the President of the Republic of Armenia National Assembly (NA), Ararat Mirzoyan, which is in the Russian Federation, on Tuesday visited the Memorial of the Unknown Soldier and paid tribute to the victims of the Great Patriotic War.
Within the framework of the working trip, the speaker of the National Assembly also visited the Holy Transfiguration Church of Russia and Nor Nakhichevan Diocese Seat of the Armenian Apostolic Church, toured the Armenian education centre, and met with representatives of the Armenian community, the NA informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
During the talk, Mirzoyan presented the agenda of their visit to Moscow and the Armenian authorities’ position on several matters. The National Assembly speaker stressed the special role of the Russian Armenian community in the context of strengthening the friendship between the Armenian and Russian peoples.
The members of the NA delegation and the representatives of the Russian Armenian community conferred on a series of important matters regarding Armenia and the Armenian diaspora.
