The new ambassador of Portugal to Armenia, Paulo Vizeu Pinheiro—with diplomatic residence in Moscow, on Tuesday handed his credentials to President Armen Sarkissian.
The President congratulated the diplomat on commencing his diplomatic mission in Armenia, and expressed a conviction that the newly appointed ambassador will use his experience and knowledge for the development of relations between the two countries. And stressing the close Armenian-Portuguese historical ties, Sarkissian expressed confidence that cooperation between the two countries also has a wonderful future.
Ambassador Pinheiro, for his part, conveyed to the Armenian president the warm greetings and good wishes from his country’s leader. Also, the diplomat assured that he will do everything possible to deepen Armenian-Portuguese relations and to develop cooperation between the two friendly countries and peoples.
