YEREVAN. – I believe how the Citizen’s Day should be marked shall be decided also as a result of public and online discussions.
The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, on Thursday noted the above-said in a Facebook post.
“Today, the government has approved the draft law wherewith it is proposed to mark the last Saturday of April as Citizen’s Day—as a mark of the triumph of the nonviolent, velvet, people’s revolution that took place in Armenia, in April-May 2018,” Pashinyan wrote, in particular. “This [day] shall not be the day of the triumph of the new government, but of the people and democracy, and it shall become a truly people’s holiday; such a holiday as the revolution itself was.”
