Armenia’s Minister of Justice Artak Zeynalyan promises radical reforms in the provision of medical services at penitentiary institutions.

In response to a journalist’s question on the grave condition of the hospital of convicts, the minister stated that the Ministry of Justice is implementing radical reforms and recalled that the hospital and all medical services will be out of the competence of the Penitentiary Service in the future.

The Ministry of Justice also envisages raising salaries and guaranteeing improvement of the social conditions of employees. “Currently, vacancies make up 27% since the job is unattractive,” Zeynalyan said.
