Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has sent a telegram of condolence on the death of film director Georgiy Daneliya, reports the Department of Information and Public Relations of the Staff of the Prime Minister, according to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“I was deeply saddened by the news of the death of great film director Georgiy Daneliya.

Thanks to the films “I Am Walking in Moscow”, “Mimino”, “Autumnal Marathon”, “Don’t Be Sad” and other famous films, Georgiy Daneliya gained the great love and sympathy of wide audiences. Sincerity, optimism and unsurpassable humor were typical of the heroes he created. They confirm the kind and the beautiful, love and loyalty.

On behalf of the people of Armenia, I express my condolences to the family and close ones of Georgiy Daneliya,” Pashinyan’s telegram reads.

Earlier, NEWS.am had reported that Soviet and Russian film director Georgiy Daneliya had died at the age of 88 after suffering from a long illness.
