A new explosion rocked an earthquake-stricken Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan on Monday. This is the second hydrogen explosion in the recent three days.

The blast at the plant’s Unit 3, which authorities have been trying to cool following a system failure after the massive earthquake and tsunami. A massive column of smoke is seen in the air, RIA Novosti reports.

The Secretary General of the Japanese Government said at a press conference that the “Fukushima” complex and its protective cover were not damaged by the hydrogen explosion.
