The Armenian community in Syria is doing very well and continues to follow their course, a representative of the Armenian community of Syria, President of Pyunik foundation Gabriel Chemperchyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

According to him, at the moment the political situation in the country is calm.

“Rumors on Syria are grossly exaggerated. There is no any threat. We live here, but we have not witnessed something threatening,” Chemperchyan noted.

He emphasized that the Armenian community supports the incumbent Libyan authorities like before.

As reported earlier, Western mass media reported controversial information on clashes between oppositional forces and government security officials. Meanwhile, rallies in support of the current president and the ruling Ba’ath Party are held in the country.
