The documents found by Turkish police in the office of Soner Yalcin, owner of Oda TV news portal arrested in connection with Eregenekon case, indicate he kept copies of the identity registers of Armenian citizens residing in the southeastern province of Diyarbakır, Today’s Zaman reports.

Asked about documents, Yalcin said he collected information about Armenians while writing a book about Behcet Canturk, a criminal boss whose mother was Armenian.

Another documents found earlier by police in Oda TV office indicate suspect Yalcin Kucuk was spreading misinformation through media for Ergenekon. During a phone conversation chief editor of Oda TV Baris Pehlivan got instructions from Kucuk in December 2008 to continue spreading reports about Armenian origin of President Gul’s mother.

Ergenekon is considered a secret terrorist group the aim of which was staging a coup through creation of chaos in Turkey.
