Israeli President Reuven Rivlin assigned the task of forming a parliamentary coalition to the chair of the Likud party, Benjamin Netanyahu, JP reported.
Following the election, Likud became the second largest faction in the Knesset, gaining 32 seats. However, at least 55 MPs see Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Therefore, the president considered that the incumbent prime minister had more chances to form a parliamentary majority than the second candidate White leader Benny Gantz.
