YEREVAN. - One third of the Armenian people suffers from high blood pressure, Deputy Director of the Armenian Research Institute of Cardiology, Yerevan chief cardiologist Parunak Zelveyan told in a press conference on Wednesday.

A deplorable fact must be admitted that the list includes 17-20% of people under 30, he added. The numbers are mainly conditioned by obesity, which is observed among 40% of Armenia’s population.

Zelveyan also noted that quality of medical treatment has improved in Armenia. The evidence thereof is fewer deaths from heart attack in the country.
