YEREVAN. - The Armenian parliament has considered an interpellation by the Rule of Law party concerning the advisability of payments for gas services in Armenia.
The party’s position is that the payment system is not justified, consumers pay for maintenance services when they pay for gas supply.
Armenian Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Armen Movsisyan disagrees with the party. Along with high-rate installation of gas supply, Armenia needs higher-quality maintenance services, he said.
“The services must naturally be paid,” the minister added.
He pointed out a high number of incidents caused by gas leakage before the new maintenance system was introduced in Armenia.
