Members of the Armenian clubs at four high schools of Glendale organized a commemorative event on Wednesday dedicated to the 96th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

The Glendale Unified commemorative event included music, poetry, video and several speakers.

The Armenian genocide survivor, now 96-years-old resident of Glendale Marie Madeleine Salibian was among the featured guests, Glendale News-Press reports.

It was one of several similar gatherings that are taking place this week in Glendale and Burbank. The Armenian National Committee Burbank chapter organized a candlelight vigil on Tuesday on the steps of City Hall.
