The administration of Nikol Aghbalyan Basic School #19 of Yerevan on Monday sent two schoolchildren home since they had recently been in Italy where the coronavirus is very common. This is what acting Principal of the School Armine Grigoryan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“The children came to school, and we found out that they were under supervision at the airport on March 3. We conducted a checkup at the medical clinic. They didn’t even have a fever, but we sent them home,” Grigoryan said, adding that the schoolchildren will return in 14 days, counting from the day of their return from Italy.

The acting principal stated that the schoolchildren are sister and brother, and they are in the 7th and 8th grades, respectively. They feel well for the time being.

Schools resumed classes on March 9.

There are four people infected with coronavirus in Armenia, and they have been isolated.
