There have been a couple of times when we have almost made the decision to declare another lockdown, but when we have started analyzing the situation, we have realized that the biggest problem and the largest hotbeds for spread of the coronavirus are neighborhoods. This is what Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan stated during a briefing held after the session of the Commandant’s Office today.
“We don’t let citizens go to Republic Square, but the largest hotbeds for spread of the coronavirus are yards and neighborhoods, not Republic Square. We Armenians have a habit of having a cup of coffee together. This is a good habit, but not during a state of emergency.
The only solution is to talk to people, not send police officers to stand next to citizens. This is why I am asking citizens to not communicate with each other without face masks,” he said.
