The subjective factors of the internal economic situation and the domestic political situation in Armenia show signals that are not too positive, and the sooner the situation in the system of governance is resolved, the better. This is what economist Tatul Manaseryan said during today’s Yerevan-Moscow teleconference.

The economist says if the situation is resolved in the visible future, Armenia might record 2-3% economic growth by mid-2021, but if not, the country can expect zero growth or even recession. According to him, the possible de-blockage of communications may also have an impact on the course of events, depending on how the reached agreements will be implemented.

“It’s important to see the application of just approaches since only Azerbaijan’s and Turkey’s interests are being considered now. Armenia won’t get anything out of the option that is being considered. The residents of Artsakh need to be able to move freely in the territory of Artsakh,” he stated.

As far as the processes unfolding within the Eurasian Economic Union are concerned, the analyst said Armenia gained by acceding to the Union, adding that it is also important to strengthen multilateral ties with all member states of the Eurasian Economic Union and that Armenia can make contributions with respect to information technologies.
