In connection with US President Joe Biden criticism of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the European Union has stressed the political accountability of the Russian President for the assassinations committed in Russia, DW reports.
There is a long list of successful assassinations or unsuccessful assassination attempts against the critics—including politicians and journalists—of what is happening in Russia, said the spokesperson of Josep Borrell, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission. Many of these cases are not investigated, remain unsolved, and the perpetrators are not brought to justice, the spokesperson also said.
Vladimir Putin, being the President of the Russian Federation, is ultimately accountable for the actions of the Russian state bodies, the policy of the state, and its other actions, the spokesperson added.
