A US warship illegally entered China's territorial waters in the South China Sea, the Chinese military command said, Reuters reported.
The Curtis Wilbur entered the waters off the Paracel Islands without permission. Chinese ships and aircraft followed the American vessel.
The statement notes that China opposes US actions that violate its sovereignty and undermine regional peace and stability.
