The most terrible economic and geopolitical sanction against the United States is the completion of the construction of North Stream 2 natural gas pipeline. The statement came from Aleksandr Sherin, First Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on Defense, RT reported.

"In that case, we [Russia] will get an alternative route for supplying [natural] gas to Europe, even twice as much as it is today through the territory of Ukraine," he added.

Sherin noted that then Ukraine will listen carefully to what Russia has to say and not blackmail Europe with disrupting Russian natural gas supplies to it.

"Once we [Russia] start supplying uninterrupted [natural] gas to Europe, Ukraine will be deprived of the huge transit money that Russia has to pay them today to enable it to supply uninterrupted [Russian natural] gas to Europe; in that case, we can impose any conditions on America, too" he said. "Then, America itself will unilaterally lift its sanctions against the Russian Federation, as it will immediately begin to lose the most terrible thing: oversight over European countries."
