The Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommended that its citizens leave Belarus and not travel to the republic for security reasons, Lithuanian Foreign Ministry reported.
Taking into account the incident on May 23, when a Ryanair passenger plane en route from Athens to Vilnius was forced to land, which created a threat to the safety and life of citizens, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly recommends that Lithuanian citizens not travel to the Republic of Belarus and calls on all Lithuanian citizens, who are in Belarus, leave the country, the statement reads.
