U.S. President Barack Obama submitted to Congress a civilian nuclear cooperation agreement with Russia. The Agreement for Peaceful Nuclear Cooperation was signed by U.S. and Russia in 2007. According to BBC Russian service, agreement was canceled by George Bush after 2008 military conflict between Russia and Georgia.

Obama stated that Georgia is no longer an obstacle to the agreement, adding that U.S.-Russia cooperation on Iran is sufficient to justify submitting of the pact to the Congress, RIA Novosti reports.
