From November 20 to 26, a delegation of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia left for the Islamic Republic of Iran to participate in the 35th CISM World Military Wrestling Championship.
As reported the Armenian Ministry of Defense, the world championship has gathered servicemen athletes from 22 countries, and the wrestlers of the Armenian delegation are competing in almost all the weight categories.
On the first day of the wrestling championship (Nov. 21), all the military wrestlers of Armenia scored medals — Manvel Khndzrtsyan and Menua Yaribekyan scored the bronze medal in the 57 kg and 74 kg categories, while Mher Markoyan scored the silver medal in the 86 kg category.
On Nov. 22, Harutyun Manukyan (61 kg), Arman Andreasyan (70 kg), Hrayr Alikhanyan (79 kg), Hovhannes Mkhitaryan (92 kg) and Lyova Gevorgyan (125 kg) competed.
