Last week, the 2011 Armenian Assembly Terjenian-Thomas Summer Intern class had the opportunity to meet with Armenian Ambassador to U.S. Tatoul Markarian.

Ambassador Markarian briefed the group on a range of issues of importance to the U.S.-Armenia bilateral relationship, as well as gave an overview of the key issues facing Armenia today.

“The Armenian Assembly has a remarkable record of service to the homeland and its internship program is just one of the ways that the Assembly provides opportunities and helps train the next generation of leaders,” said Ambassador Markarian.

Ambassador Markarian fielded questions from the intern class on the major issues of the day, including the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, relations with neighboring states, and the Turkish and Azeri blockades of Armenia, U.S. assistance, and U.S. affirmation of the Armenian Genocide.
