YEREVAN. -  The cooperation between Yerevan and Lyon will develop and will be enhanced with new initiatives, Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan stated at the meeting with Mayor of Lyon Gerard Collomb in Yerevan on Tuesday.

Serzh Sargsyan stressed decentralized cooperation plays an important role in high-level Armenia-France relations, the presidential press service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“We are happy the cooperation between Yerevan and Lyon continues and makes a significant contribution to improvement of two people’s friendship,” Sargsyan noted. “The friendship between Armenia and France has a long history and mutual sympathy has given an opportunity to Armenians to be fully integrated into French society and develop their capabilities and abilities.”  

President Sargsya expressed gratitude to the French mayor and members of the Council of Lyon for the support and attention to the Armenians and the Armenian issue.

“Armenian people are grateful to all those who recognize and denounce the Armenian Genocide, struggling with its denial,” the president emphasized.
