YEREVAN. - Poland supports Armenia’s joining the European Union and is ready to provide assistance to Yerevan, Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski stated at a joint press conference with his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan in Yerevan on Thuersday.
According to him, the key to Armenia’s integration into the EU are democratic reforms and Poland is ready to assist their implementation. The Polish leader congratulated Armenian people on Armenian chess team’s perfect victory at the World Team Championship, stressing chess requires a lot of patience and consistency. “Armenia will need these qualities to join the EU. This is the most important game,” Komorowski noted.
The official also stressed there are favorable conditions for development of Armenian-Polish cooperation in economic and cultural fields. Komorowski underscored a Polish company won the tender for production of biometric passports for Armenian citizens.
