Professional boxing world champions who have been issued Armenian citizenship in order to represent Armenia in sports events, will be granted military service deferment in the country. The respective decision was adopted at Wednesday’s Cabinet meeting of the Armenian government.

At present, other athletes representing Armenia in Olympic and non-Olympic sports can also be eligible for this military service deferment.
