YEREVAN. - Opposition Heritage party issued congratulatory message on the occasion on 20th anniversary of Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) independence, reiterating the importance of Armenia’s recognition of Artsakh independence.

“On the occasion of 20th anniversary of Nagorno-Karabakh independence, we congratulate all Armenians and wish new achievements in realization of national goals. 20 years ago, the heroic struggle of our people built the grounds for the independence of second Armenian statehood, Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. Regretfully, our military achievements that ended with the truce on 1994, turned into diplomatic failures due to imprudent inner and foreign policies pursued by the three administrations. Current administration twice toppled Raffi Hovhannisyan’s bill on Recognition of NKR independence but on this historical day, we once again reiterate that Heritage Party recognizes the independence of NKR. We call on each and every political and social organization in Armenia and Diaspora and in the first place on the ruling parties to recognize Karabakh’s independence, contribute to its resettlement and development, work with international community towards Karabkah’s recognition,” reads the statement.
