The leader of the pro-Turkish armed groups that came to power in Damascus, Ahmed al-Sharaa (known by his nickname Abu Mohammed al-Julani), has declared his readiness to run for the post of the Syrian president in case he is asked by the citizens of the republic or his entourage, TASS reports.
“I will run for the presidency of the Syrian (Arab) Republic if citizens or people around me ask me to do so,” Al Araby TV channel quoted him as saying.
