Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan characterized Armenia's position on the idea of disbanding the OSCE Minsk Group as constructive. He stated this in an interview with “Armenpress.”

“We understand the position that if there is no conflict, what is the point of having a format dealing with conflict resolution.

But we also want to make sure that Azerbaijan approaches this issue with the same logic, that its aspiration, say, to develop a discourse on the so-called 'West Azerbaijan' does not consist in the realization of an aggressive policy towards the territory of the Republic of Armenia,” Pashinyan said.

According to him, it is obvious that by talking about the so-called “Western Azerbaijan,” official Baku wants to make territorial claims against Armenia, which are fixed in the Constitution of Azerbaijan, subject.

“If this is not true and we are mistaken in our ideas, then under “Western Azerbaijan” should be understood the Kazakh, Tovuz, Agstafa, Gedabey, Dashkesan, Kelbajar, Lachin, Kubatli, Zangelan districts of Azerbaijan. Therefore, the return of people there is an internal affair of Azerbaijan, and the Armenian government has nothing to do or discuss here, except for the issues it is already discussing with Baku. I mean the establishment of normal relations, which will ensure the security of the western borders of Azerbaijan and eastern borders of Armenia,” the Prime Minister concluded.
