Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan on Friday received the United Nations (UN) Resident Coordinator in Armenia, Francoise Jacob, informs the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Armenia.

The interlocutors touched upon the main directions of cooperation between Armenia and the UN, as well as the joint programs implemented within this framework. Among other topics, the preparatory work for the 17th Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the UN Convention on Biodiversity, to be held in Armenia in 2026, and cooperation with relevant UN bodies were discussed.

Mirzoyan and Jacob exchanged views also on ensuring the UN effectiveness in the context of current geopolitical developments—and in line with the mandate and goals of this organization.

Steps taken towards implementing the UN Sustainable Development Goals were discussed as well.

The measures aimed at addressing the long-term needs of Armenians forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh and the respective cooperation with international partners were touched upon, too.
