The European Union (EU) supports the process of establishing peace in the South Caucasus. Ambassador Vassilis Maragos, Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, stated in his congratulatory message on the occasion of New Year and Christmas.

In his message, Maragos recapped the achievements of 2024, and focused on the domains in which the cooperation between Armenia and the EU is implemented.

Also, Maragos recalled that the EU provided 70 million euros to address the needs of Armenian refugees from Nagorno Karabakh.

"(...) we opened the European Peace Facility to Armenia (…) and the EU Mission in Armenia continued to implement its mandate. (…) we have launched the visa liberalization dialogue which aims at introducing visa-free travel for Armenian citizens provided that conditions for well-managed security and mobility are in place," the EU ambassador added, in particular.
