Hraparak daily of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes as follows, in particular: The pro-Western group advocating for Armenia to become a member of the EU, it turns out, submitted such an illiterate draft to the NA [i.e. the National Assembly] that the Division of State and Legal Expertise of the Expertise and Analytical Department of the NA has given a negative conclusion. It turns out mistakes were made in the basic legal wording of the Eurovote draft.

The authors were explained what a legal act meant, what a law meant, and that they could not hold a referendum on EU membership with the draft they submitted, since the EU is an international organization and the procedures for joining it are defined by the RA Constitution and Article 15 of the Law "On International Treaties."

As a result of the expert analysis, it was recorded that “the wording envisaged by the draft is not perceived unambiguously and cause misinterpretations.”

The draft has been included in the agenda of the meeting of the NA [Standing] Committee on European Integration and will be discussed today. The ruling majority of the committee will vote in favor of the draft.
