The Armenian delegation, led by National Assembly (NA) speaker Alen Simonyan, met with President Claude Wiseler of the Chamber of Deputies of Luxembourg, during their official visit to this country, the NA informs.

Underscoring the role of the parliamentary diplomacy in the dynamic development of high level political dialogue between Armenia and Luxembourg, the interlocutors highlighted its further deepening in terms of giving a new momentum to strong bilateral political relations.

Special reference was made to a number of matters regarding the Armenia-EU partnership. Alen Simonyan emphasized the official launch of the visa liberalization dialogue, and welcomed the recent decision of the EU Council to extend the mandate of the EU civilian monitoring mission in Armenia for another two years.

In turn, Claude Wiseler noted that Luxembourg supports the European and democratic aspirations of Armenia and is ready to contribute to that path.

During the meeting, the prospects of signing a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, regional developments, and several other matters of mutual interest were also discussed.
