The State Revenue Committee (SRC) of Armenia received an expert mission from the European Union (EU) for the purpose of developing a Visa Liberalization Action Plan (VLAP).

The mission aims to assess the overall state of Armenia’s preparedness in document protection, border management and migration, as well as to contribute to the preparation of VLAP, the SRC informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The EU colleagues were briefed on the main strategic directions of the SRC in customs administration, the respective reforms implemented in recent years, challenges, and development prospects.

The organizing of border procedures was also discussed during the meeting.

Also as part of the mission, the EU delegation visited Armenia’s Bagratashen and Ayrum border checkpoints to get familiarized with the activities of the country’s customs authorities on site. A visit to Zvartnots International Airport of Yerevan is also planned.
