Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with European Council President Antonio Costa on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, the PM’s office informs.

The interlocutors discussed the Armenia-European Union (EU) cooperation agenda.

The prime minister highlighted EU’s continued support for the consistent promotion of democratic reforms in Armenia. Pashinyan emphasized that the full implementation of the reform agenda is one of the priorities of the Armenian government. Also, the premier stressed that Armenia attaches importance to expanding and developing multilateral ties with the EU aimed at developing capabilities in various domains.

Antonio Costa, for his part, welcomed the steps by the government of Armenia aimed at the strengthening of democracy and implementing of institutional reforms. Also, the president of the European Council expressed the EU’s commitment to the strengthening of partnership based on shared values and deepening of cooperation with Armenia in all domains.

The interlocutors discussed as well the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the possibilities of unblocking regional communication routes, and the Crossroads of Peace project by the Armenian government.

In addition, Antonio Costa highlighted and welcomed the actions and initiatives by the government of Armenia aimed at peace.
