Elon Musk, who oversees the work of the US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), plans to double this organization’s staff, which currently consists of about 100 people. Musk spoke about this in an interview with Fox Business television.

“We're a little bit over 100 at this point. We're going to get to 200,” Musk said.

According to him, the DOGE team is currently recruiting software developers and information security specialists.

He added that DOGE has a wide range of responsibilities, covering all US federal agencies. In this context, the entrepreneur pointed to the huge US budget deficit, which is $2 trillion, while interest payments exceed the Pentagon budget.

If they do nothing, there will be no money for anything, and they will just pay the debt, Musk said.

“I just don’t want America to go bankrupt," he added.
