Israeli government spokesman David Mentzer said Tuesday that the country's return to fighting in the Gaza Strip was “fully coordinated with Washington” after the deadliest strikes on the territory since a fragile truce took effect in January, AFP reported.

“I can confirm that the return to intense fighting in Gaza was fully coordinated with Washington. Israel thanked President (Donald) Trump and his administration for their unwavering support for Israel,” Mentzer said at the briefing.

Israel violated the ceasefire in Gaza with strikes on the Palestinian enclave. The victim of these bombings were at least 404 people.
