Ukraine has limited to a minimum its participation in the negotiations with the Russian side due to the absence of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The delegation will come to Istanbul, but without top officials, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said at a press conference, RBC-Ukraine reports.
“But the Chief of the General Staff, so far, the Chairman of the security service and several other people who are in our delegation, who have now arrived with me, and accordingly me, also have nothing to do, because Putin has not arrived yet, or at all, no one knows it,” - emphasized Zelensky.
He also noted that US President Donald Trump has signaled that he may show up.
“Except for this signal, which was media open, we have nothing other information,” - added Zelensky.
Today, on Thursday, according to the proposal of the Russian President, peace talks between Russia and Ukraine should take place in Istanbul.
However, the President of Russia, as well as US President Donald Trump will not be present at them.
