Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg is on a plane en route from Israel to France, informed the press service of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).

Thunberg is leaving Israel for France on a flight, the statement said.

In addition, the Israeli MFA press service posted a photo of Thunberg on the plane flying to France. The environmental activist is seen sitting in a plane seat.

According to the Ynet portal, before boarding the plane, Thunberg signed a document on voluntary deportation from Israel. Accordingly, the environmental activist boarded an Israeli El Al airline plane en route to France, despite the fact that she is against the use of airplanes due to their air pollution and has not flown on them for many years.

Israeli special forces took control of Gaza-bound aid ship Madleen. The Israeli MFA reported that the ship, which was carrying 12 pro-Palestinian activists, including Greta Thunberg, was redirected to Israeli shores. According to The Times of Israel, the ship arrived in Ashdod Monday evening, and the 12 activists on board were detained by Israeli authorities.

According to Ynet, eight of the 12 activists on the Madleen refused to sign an agreement on voluntary deportation from Israel. According to the procedure, they were all detained for 96 hours, which they will spend in a detention center for foreigners who enter Israel illegally. After that, the eight activists can be deported from Israel without their consent.
