Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan participated in the 2025 Concours Mondial de Bruxelles event held in Yinchuan, China, within the framework of which it was officially announced that the next host country of this event will be Armenia, the Ministry of Economy of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

According to the established tradition, at the end of this event, representatives of Armenia and China exchanged flags, signaling the transfer of this event, and ceremoniously presented the host country for 2026.

The Concours Mondial de Bruxelles is the largest international platform where more than 370 professional judges from different countries taste about 7,500 red and white wines from 49 countries. The competition, which has been around for about 30 years, is held every year in countries that are important in wine production, promoting international recognition of local products. In recent years, this competition has been hosted by the Czech Republic, Luxembourg, Spain, Italy, France, Croatia, and Mexico.

Thus, in 2026, more than 400 guests—including highly rated wine experts, sommeliers, buyers, importers, journalists, bloggers, lecturers, etc.—from different countries, will arrive in Armenia

In his welcoming remarks, the minister of economy of Armenia noted that winemaking is experiencing a revival in the country, and Armenian wine specialists skillfully combine tradition and innovation, applying the latest technologies and scientific approaches.

The winemaking sector is considered a priority direction of Armenia’s economy, and the government attaches great importance to increasing international interest, attracting investments, and developing infrastructure in this sector. Holding the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles in Armenia is an important step towards presenting the country's wine culture, history, and potential to the international community, emphasized Gevorg Papoyan.
