Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of Armenia reflected on former presidents Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan on his Facebook page: “K.R. [Kocharyan, Robert] and S.S. [Sargsyan, Serzh]’s statements in recent days reaffirm that the Karabakh issue was in the hands of known forces as a leash to tie the Republic of Armenia to the ‘nearest tree.’

The rights of peoples, historical justice and similar expressions have been used merely to smokescreen the main objective.

2. All negotiation processes and proposals have aimed at shortening the leash (короткий поводок). By the end of the year the negotiation documents will be published and this will become more visible.

3. All proposals to ‘stop the war’ were about shortening the leash (I have publicly addressed this topic many times).

4. The ultimate goal of this process of shortening the leash was to put an end to Armenia’s statehood.

5. In that scenario, the Karabakh conflict should have ended only and exclusively with the loss of Armenia’s statehood.

6. The Republic of Armenia has managed to exit that scenario at the cost of the lives of our martyrs and thanks to the historical intuition of our people of the Republic of Armenia and Karabakh,.

7. KR and SS propose returning to that scenario, which was originally written and implemented under the slogan “Lenin, party, Gorbachev” and, very likely, under the patronage of the KGB (КГБ).

8. And because their capabilities are obviously zero, an attempt is being made to form a “cohort of young Lenin-party-Gorbachevs” under the patronage of old KGB men.
