Armenia has encouraged its US partners to consider relaunching dialogue with Georgia concerning the potential benefits for the country in the context of unblocking regional communications in the South Caucasus, Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan said, Armenpress reports.

Kostanyan made the remarks in Georgian capital Tbilisi when asked by a reporter whether there was any link between the visit of US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Allison Hooker to Armenia and the visit of US State Department representative Jonathan Askonas to Georgia during the same period.

He emphasized that during those days, the US representatives in Tbilisi also coordinated their discussions with Armenia.

“Opportunities were discussed with Georgia regarding how Tbilisi could also benefit from the overall unblocking processes. I would like to add one more point: we ourselves encouraged our US partners and spoke at length about the need to somewhat revive dialogue with Georgia. We are very pleased that these discussions have taken place,” said the Armenian deputy FM.
