The opening ceremony of Mesrop Mashtots Street took place Friday in the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana.

The event was attended by Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan, Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin, Kazakh Minister of Culture and Information Aida Balayeva, and several other officials, informs the Armenian Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport.

To note, an Armenian delegation, led by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, is on an official visit to Kazakhstan on Thursday and Friday.

Mesrop Mashtots was a 4th- and 5th-century Armenian linguist, theologian, and statesman best known for creating the Armenian alphabet around 405 AD.
