The Hayastan All Armenian Fund on Friday summed up the results of its fundraising campaign for this year, and titled “Homeland Eternity,” the Fund informed Armenian Nrews-NEWS.am.

The speakers at the event spoke about the strategic significance of the target program of this year’s fundraising campaign—the reconstruction of the Spandaryan Canal in Syunik Province of Armenia, the new format of this fundraising campaign and its nationwide engagement, the current ideological emphases of the Fund, and cooperation with the Armenian state.

This year's sectoral direction of the fundraising campaign is water supply—the reconstruction of the Spandaryan Canal, as a result of which Sarnakunk, Ishkhanasar, Tsghuk, Spandaryan, Angeghakot, and Shaki villages of Armenia will have irrigation water.

The Spandaryan Canal in Syunik Province of Armenia begins at an altitude of 2280 meters. As a result of the reconstruction of the 70% damaged reservoir, a number of settlements deprived of irrigation water will be provided with effective irrigation of 2,800 hectares of land, and 730 families (4,320 residents) will become direct beneficiaries.

The project will contribute also to ensuring water security, increasing food security, as well as economic stability and climate resilience.

Zaruhi Aznauryan, Acting Executive Director of the Hayastan All Armenian Fund, noted that a total of about USD 17,000,668.22 were collected in this year's fundraising campaign. This amount is about 30% more than the average results of recent years. Also, this year there was an increase by about two times in the participation of organizations and individuals in Armenia, Aznauryan added.
