According to information received from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, starting from January 1, 2026, all tourists entering Georgia are required to submit at the Georgian border checkpoints a document confirming their health and accident insurance coverage, the State Revenue Committee of Armenia informed.

But it added that the following individuals shall be exempt from this mandatory insurance requirement:

. Persons with diplomatic or special visas to enter Georgia.

. Holders of diplomatic, official, service, or special passports.

. Accredited employees of diplomatic missions, consular institutions, representations of international organizations, as well as their equivalent representations, and their family members.

. Persons whose entry into Georgia is provided for by international agreements or treaties of Georgia.

. Drivers engaged in international automobile cargo and passenger transportation.
