The year 2026 is approaching. At this beautiful moment, when we bid farewell to the passing year and welcome the new one, on behalf of the Embassy of China in Armenia, I would like to convey my sincere greetings and New Year greetings to all our Armenian friends and compatriots living in Armenia. This is stated in the congratulatory message of Chinese ambassador to Armenia Li Xinwei, posted on the Facebook page of the Embassy of China in Armenia.
“In 2025, relations between China and Armenia made significant progress. RA [i.e. Republic of Armenia] Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited China and participated in the SCO+ format meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization [(SCO)] summit, and the events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the victory in the War of Resistance Against Japan.
China and Armenia have established a strategic partnership, raising bilateral relations to a new level. Cooperation in all domains has become closer, the number of people-to-people exchanges has reached a record level.
Armenia’s membership in the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank has opened up new opportunities for joint activities in the field of infrastructure and investment.
2026 is the Year of the Horse according to the Chinese calendar. In the cultures of China and Armenia, the horse symbolizes courage, vitality, and the striving for progress. In this new year, I wish to contribute, together with our Armenian friends, to the more effective and rapid development of Chinese-Armenian relations,” the Chinese ambassador to Armenia added, in particular, in his congratulatory message.
