The European Union (EU) believes that the military exercises being conducted by the Chinese army near Taiwan are exacerbating tensions in the region. This was reported to journalists by the press service of the European External Action Service.
As per the respective statement, EU opposes any unilateral action that changes the status quo through the use of force or threats, and calls on all parties to refrain from any action that could lead to an escalation of tension
