The court has applied an additional restrictive measure against the head of the Tashir Group of Companies, Samvel Karapetyan, prohibiting him from making statements containing any kind of calls. This was announced by his lawyer, Aram Vardevanyan, on social media.

Lawyer Aram Vardanyan writes:

“Dear compatriots, dear colleagues,

Since June 18, 2025, Samvel Karapetyan has been unlawfully under arrest. The period of detention amounted to 195 days without any legal grounds. On December 30, 2025, by a court decision, imprisonment was replaced with house arrest, which in terms of its intensity is equated to deprivation of liberty, including according to a ruling of the Constitutional Court.

I would like to disclose another important circumstance. By the court’s decision, an additional exceptional restriction was applied — Samvel Karapetyan is prohibited from making any statements containing calls. It is unclear how a violation of this restriction will be identified; however, it is obvious that this constitutes a direct restriction of public speech, which did not exist even during his time in detention.

It is evident that the intensity of the political persecution of a national benefactor and a person who has declared his political intentions, Samvel Karapetyan, represents the most serious obstacle to the application of reasonable legal mechanisms.
