The opposition Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Dashnaktsutyun Party has decided to run in the National Assembly (NA) elections in Armenia in 2026 and give preference to the bloc format.

The respective statement of the 29th special Supreme Assembly of the ARF Armenia organization notes that examining the matter of the format of ARF's participation in the 2026 NA elections, based on the proposals of the ARF provincial and urban assemblies, as well as the views and opinions of the assembly participants, recorded that “the Republic of Armenia and all Armenians are facing geopolitical changes and serious security threats.

The anti-national and anti-state policy of the current [Armenian] administration has called into question the future of Armenia's statehood and the territorial integrity of the country.

In order to make a breakthrough in the situation, neutralize the threats, and build a new quality national state, the removal of the current administration from power is imperative.

In this context, the upcoming parliamentary elections in 2026 must be turned into a means of preventing the reproduction of the current administration.

Based on the above-mentioned confirmations, the Supreme Assembly [of the ARF] decided to participate in the 2026 NA elections, giving preference to the bloc format, to authorize the Supreme Body of ARF Armenia to conduct active pre-election negotiations on the format of a possible bloc, ensuring the significant role of ARF and the reflection of its approaches on the most important issues."
