The Armenian government has approved the signing of the Charter of the “Board of Peace.”

The respective decision signed by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has been posted on the official website of the Armenian government.

Also, the document instructs Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan to organize the signing of the aforesaid charter.

US President Donald Trump had announced the forming of the “Board of Peace” in the context of the situation in Gaza and invited the leaders of a number of countries—including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Russia, and Belarus—to join this board.

A number of American media outlets had reported that if countries want to join this board for a period of more than three years, they will have to pay more than $1 billion in the first year.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev have already expressed their readiness to join the “Board of Peace” as founding members.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, on the other hand, has announced that a final decision on Russia's joining the "Board of Peace" has not yet been made.
