Past daily of Armenia writes as follows: Last week, [PM] Nikol Pashinyan had announced in an interview with Public Television that Armenia intends to resolve the issue of the Armenian railway under Russian management in a friendly logic with Russia.

Such a development, that the RF [i.e. the Russian Federation] will carry out the restoration work of two sections of the [Armenia’s] railways, does not stem from Pashinyan's interests. And on the other hand, the concession agreement of the South Caucasus Railway [company] expires in 2038, although, according to the agreement, one of the parties can terminate the agreement in 2028.

The West is forcing Pashinyan to quickly implement the termination of the concession agreement. According to our source, Pashinyan is currently secretly negotiating with France and Germany.

(...) the [Armenian] railway issue was reflected on quite extensively during the expanded meeting between Pashinyan and [US Vice President JD] Vance [who visited Armenia last week]. The only demand voiced by the Armenian side was that if a new company was to be involved, there should be no Turkish or Azerbaijani capital in that railway company.

The Americans did not promise, but instead noted that they could implement management through a company registered in an offshore company, the real owners of which would be extremely difficult to find out.
